RV and Boat Detailing in Renton, WA

RV and Boat Detailing in RentonWashing an RV or a boat is not the same job as washing a car, only bigger. More surface, more height, more crevices, and more ways for water to sit where it shouldn’t. A boat detail has to deal with sun, moisture and mildew. An RV has to deal with roofs, seams and a lot of vertical surface.

Signature Auto Detail welcomes RVs and boats, and quotes each one individually because no two are the same. Here is how boat and RV detailing works.

Why Boats and RVs Are Quoted by the Job

RV Detailing Renton

Our shop menu lists boat detailing as quoted by size and the services needed, and RVs work the same way. A 20-foot runabout and a 40-foot motorhome are different amounts of work, and so are a lightly used rig and one that has sat since last summer.

What changes the quote: the length and height of the vehicle, whether you want exterior only or interior too, how much oxidation or buildup is on the surface, and what protection you want when we’re done.

When you call, it helps to tell us the type of vehicle, its approximate length, where it is kept and what you want done. Photos are the fastest way to get an accurate quote. If you are not sure what the surface needs, ask. We would rather recommend the right level than sell you more than you need.

Boats take a beating from sun and water. Exteriors collect grime, waterline staining and oxidation on fiberglass that leaves the finish chalky and dull. Interiors fight dampness, which is why mildew shows up so often in Western Washington.

  • Exterior cleaning of hull and topsides, with attention to staining and buildup
  • Restoring gloss where oxidation has dulled the finish, followed by protection
  • Interior cleaning of seats, carpet and surfaces, including areas where moisture collects
  • Window and glass cleaning
  • Odor treatment for musty cabins, quoted per vehicle

What RV Detailing Covers

RVs add scale. The sides alone can be larger than a whole car. Washing and finishing a rig takes time, and protecting the surface afterward helps it stay cleaner longer. Interiors need the same attention as a home: carpets, upholstery, windows and the small spaces where dust gathers.

If your RV is stored, preparing it before and after the season makes a real difference. A clean, protected rig is easier to keep that way.

Local Conditions That Matter

Boats kept on Lake Washington and Puget Sound sit in constant humidity. Rain, shade and temperature swings are enough to keep mildew a seasonal fight. RVs that live in a driveway under trees collect sap, pollen and green film. Frequent cleaning and a protective layer are the best defense, and our article on protecting paint in the Pacific Northwest explains why.
